Reporting to the Operations Manager, key responsibilities are:
- To ensure that the least cost transport schedule is produced for a given service level
- Identifying opportunities to ensure the most efficient use of resources within the contract
- To oversee Global Carrier Manager software in the planning process.
- Take a proactive role in improving planning KPI's through the schedule
- Assigning loads to carriers and booking resource with third party carriers
- Booking deliveries with end customer as required.
- Monitor the flow and accuracy of data between the customers system and GCM.
- To liaise with the customers despatch, customer service and manufacturing planning functions to ensure all operational and planning efficiency's are maximised.
- Develop and maintain effective working relationships with the customer, ensuring actions are consistent with their business plan

- PC literate with experience of spreadsheets and databases, ideally with
- Experience of computerised routing and scheduling packages.
- Good geographic knowledge with experience in transport planning
- English language skills preferred
